What a way to end the year!

It's been a hell of a year, personally and overall. We all know and mourn about the Bowies, Brexits, and Trumps of the world, so I won't write anymore on them.

For me, this year has been one of massive growth. From launching a reading app for McDonald's, to getting a full page brand press ad live (from a facebook post brief), being directly at the center of the greatest Happy Meal of all time, through to taking that plunge and going freelance.

 Campaign Annual 2016

Campaign Annual 2016

And now this has happened. I am beyond proud that something I helped create made it into Campaign, for it to feature in the Top 10 Press Ads is mindblowing. That it's a long copy brand piece...icing, cakes, that sort of thing.

This year has been something. Not always good, but certainly not always bad. It's been a year of ups and downs, and these are a few of the people who made this year what it was.

Sav Evangelou for being the best CD I've ever had, supporting my way of thinking and giving me the confidence to push my weird, James Stedman syntax, copy and ideas. It's working!!!

Alex Rose for being my art director compadre for some excellent work. Yes, we've gone our separate ways, but all good things come to an end, and we went out on a bang with Carlsberg 90 Minutes.

Murray Allan for taking me under your wing for our brief stint at SapientRazorfish. We had a blast, doing some brilliant work with some brilliant people, and now you're off to [redacted] to be CD. I have an inkling that you might just rock it...big style. Mega happy for you dude! You've helped me believe in myself BIG TIME. You will make an excellent CD.

Rachael Burkinshaw for being the toughest, most supportive, genuine person I know. My ups and downs have been nothing compared to yours but somehow you still stay strong. Your honesty and genuine nature are an inspiration. Your creativity is on the verge of being let loose, and I can't wait to see that.

Yeah, that'll do for now. If I think of anything else I'll edit this, but for now, what a year. 2017, be the Return Of The Jedi to this Empire Strikes Back.
